Today I did the Rockland Broad circular walk, which follows the Wherrymans way through to the village of Claxton. It was a 2 hour walk and it’s safe to say I have well and truly knackered, but it was a walk a very much needed. The walk is dog friendly and has a good sized car park.

Rockland broad is part of the Mid Yare Valley Nature Reserve and is owned and managed by the RSPB, it is a popular spot for bird watching and there are seating areas looking out onto the broads.

The village of Claxton is a historical rural village, after this checkpoint the majority of the walk is on the country roads, so bare that in mind if you are taking little ones!

There are 2 pubs on the walk, The New Inn which is located opposite the car park, offering mornings, pub food and local ales. When we returned to the car we all said simultaneously that we would LOVE some pub grub! The Beauchamp Arms is located on the broad, probably a quarter of the way around the walk!
