Walk 2: Quayside

Quayside is hidden within the busy streets of Norwich.

Famous for being a thriving cargo depot area, In the 1930s Quayside was one of the many slums within Norwich. Throughout the walk you can spot metal bales by artist Les Bicknell, the bales represent the numerous amount of cargo transported to the quay. Look closely and you will be able to see names engraved into the bales, these names are former property owners within Quayside.

It is a lovely place to walk by the river Wensum, the architecture is incredible, and the environment makes you forget that only a few streets away, is the hustle and bustle of the centre of Norwich. There are bike paths if you fancy a cycle ride, and benches for you to sit and relax throughout.
