Owned and managed by Norfolk Wildlife Trust Foxley Wood is the largest ancient wood in Norfolk. It is clearly signposted with two circular routes exploring the nature reserve. There is information information and scenic benches throughout. It is open 10am-5pm expect for Thursdays, when habitat management takes place!
If you are visiting make sure you wear wellies, as it is very muddy at the moment. I will be revisiting in the spring and summer, to see their famous bluebells and butterflies as Foxley is a butterfly hotspot.
Unfortunately dogs are not allowed within the woods, in order to try and preserve and encourage wildlife.
A wonderful walk which I recommend!
