Walk 68: Mousehold Woods

St Williams Chapel.

In between my online lecture and seminars, I took a trip up to Mousehold Heath (WALK 17) to explore more of the woodland area. I parked at the car park near open academy this time, and ventured into the area that St Williams Chapel used to stand. The chapel was named after a boy named William whose body was found in 1144 at Mousehold Heath, he was referred to as a saint/martyr and a chapel was reconstructed in honour of him. The heath covers 200 acres, so there is a lot for you to explore.

It was extremely satisfying hearing the rain hitting the trees and they also provided some much needed shelter. This is the perfect place for exploring or a game of hide and seek!
