Checkpoint 12 and 13 of the Wensum River Parkway Walk
Cow Tower was built in 1398-9, as an artillery tower. It is situated within beautiful surroundings. You can explore the exterior of the tower, but not the interior. It is a perfect walk following the river, with picturesque surroundings. Petch’s Corner was difficult to find, it is located opposite Cow Tower across the river. It was the sit of the last Wherry boatyard in the city centre. Unfortunately it has been very neglected.
