On New Years Eve myself and my mum went on an adventure to Happisburgh. I finally got to visit the infamous Happisburgh Lighthouse and it did not disappoint. Built in 1791, it is now the UKs only independently operated working lighthouse!!
It is a place for everyone! With a playground for children (and adults) and a bit of history! In 2013 the oldest human footprints outside of Africa appeared on Happisburgh seafront. Within 2 weeks they washed away, luckily they were documented by scientists beforehand.
The walk I chose was from Norfolk Trails UK and I have added the link to the trail below. It was a day of discoveries - starting off at Happisburgh, coast walked to Walcott, and then road and countryside walked back to the lighthouse! You do NOT have to do the full 7 miles. Explore what you’d like and how you’d like to!
Parking (at the beach car park)is £1.50 per hour or £7 all day - cash or card. Dogs are welcome. There are toilets at the car park. The walk is clearly signposted. Walking boots are advised!
