WALK 110: Costessey Country Park (Woodland Trail)

So for the last five days I have been dog/cat/house sitting for my lovely friend, and it gave me the opportunity to explore some beautiful walks around queens hills!

The woodland (also known as the “bog wood” was established in the 17th/18th century. The trail itself is around 15 years old (since the establishment of queens hills housing estate). There is an information board at the entrance, giving you the opportunity to choose your route and what wildlife to look out for!

It can be accessed on Sir Alfred Munnings Road. There are no toilets unfortunately, but it’s about a 20 minute walk from longwater retail park, which does have toilets.

The footpath itself is not circular, but there are smaller trailers that can make the walk circular and they lead onto a rope swing! However, be careful of the nettles and harsh drops! You can also choose to lead onto the lagoon path (found in “water” Category) if you wish.
