WALK 108: Burnham Market

A beautiful village situated on the north Norfolk coast! There are a vast array of independent businesses, from shops to cafes!

The largest of the 2 Burnham villages, Burnham market is a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of Norwich city centre. There is a lot to do and see, with a bit of something for everyone. The buildings have held their own reflections of historical architecture, and are a representation of a true sea side village.

The shopping area surrounds the village green, with a range of shops, cafes and restaurants, the majority being independent businesses. There is a sweetshop, and a paint your own pottery shop! We had some lunch from Tuscan Farm Shop and it was delicious! The Hoste Arms is a luxury hotel and restaurant, with stubby historical elements dating back 400 years! There are also an array of cottages for you to stay in (Norfolk Hideaways).

Burnham Market has two churches situated at either side of the village centre. St Mary's and All Saints. St Mary's gives you the opportunity to walk around the church exterior and take in all the architectural elements. The village was also an anglo saxon burial site. So clearly it is a village full of history.
